How much does custom embroidery cost?
The three things that set the price
Nobody can quote embroidery from a garment name alone, and any shop that gives you a single flat number is either guessing or padding. Three inputs decide it.
- The garment. A tee, a cap, a polo and a hoodie are different blanks at different costs, which is why starting prices differ so much between them.
- The stitch count of your logo. Embroidery is priced by how much thread and machine time the design takes, not by how many colors it has. A dense filled crest costs more to stitch than an open wordmark at the same width.
- The quantity. Setup is amortized across the run, so the per-piece price falls as the run grows.
Where the price breaks fall
Runs start at 12 pieces, with price breaks at 12, 24, 50 and 100. There is no upper limit.
If your quantity is close to a break, it is worth asking, the per-piece drop sometimes makes the larger order cost about the same in total.
Digitizing is free here
Before a machine can stitch your logo it has to be converted into a stitch file. That conversion is called digitizing, and it is commonly billed as a separate one-off charge.
Stitch & Go does it free on every design, and the file is reused on repeat orders, so the benefit compounds rather than being a one-time discount.
How to get an exact number
Send the artwork, the garment and the quantity and you get real pricing back within one business day, not a range, and not a call from a sales rep. You can also build and price an order yourself online without talking to anyone.
Does embroidery cost more for more colors?
No. Embroidery at Stitch & Go is priced on stitch count, garment and quantity, not on the number of thread colors in your design. Per-color fees are a screen-printing convention, not an embroidery one.
Is there a setup fee for embroidery?
Digitizing, converting your logo into a stitch file, is free on every design at Stitch & Go, and the file is reused on repeat orders.
How much does embroidery cost on a polo?
Polo embroidery starts around $35 per piece at Stitch & Go in Coral Springs, Florida. The final price depends on the stitch count of your logo and your quantity, with price breaks at 12, 24, 50 and 100 pieces.
